YONKERS - An innocent bystander is recovering today after being shot in Yonkers this weekend.

Police say the woman was hit in the leg by a bullet fired during a fight between two men. They say two men were arguing outside an apartment building at 290 Woodworth Ave. Saturday night. The argument escalated, and one of the men pulled out a gun and began shooting.

Investigators say they found the victim inside an apartment in the building after someone called 911. She was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center for treatment. She is expected to recover from her wounds.

Police swarmed the street and area, cordoning off Woodworth Avenue looking for clues and the shooter. No arrests have been made yet.
