BUCHANAN - Union members at Indian Point have voted to authorize a strike at the nuclear power plant in Buchanan, when their contract runs out later this month.

Members of the Utility Workers Union of America agreed last night to strike against the plant's owner, Entergy, if their needs aren't met in current contract talks. The biggest issue right now is wages.

The union has scheduled what it is calling a "practice picket" outside the plant later this week.

A spokesman for Entergy says the company is continuing negotiations with the union, and hopes to reach a new agreement.
