Ice blamed for 24-car crash on Bronx River Parkway

Nearly 40 people were injured in the crash on the Bronx River Parkway (12/9/13)

YONKERS - Ice, snow and rain created treacherous driving conditions that caused numerous accidents across the Hudson Valley Monday.

Now, ice is being blamed for a 24-car pileup on the Bronx River Parkway Sunday.

Police say the chain reaction crash happened around 11 p.m. near Palmer Avenue in Yonkers.

First responders had to take 35 people to the hospital, but none of the injuries were considered life-threatening.
