MOUNT KISCO - Hot spots are proving to be a challenge for firefighters in Mount Kisco after flames sparked at a yeshiva Friday.

The fire first broke out at the Yeshiva of Nitra located on Yeshiva Road around 6:30 p.m. Friday. They returned to the scene several times on Saturday to address pockets of fire that have been flaring up.

Firefighters say the flare-ups were minor and, because of the amount of foam used to put out the blaze, they are not a major concern.

The building is located atop a fairly steep hill, and the nearest water source is about a half-mile away. Firefighters have been using tanker shuttles to bring water to the scene.

"The guys have been working really hard, obviously been working in really tough conditions," says Mount Kisco Fire Chief Al Bueti. "They did a great job last night, worked all night and a lot of these guys came back here during the day also."

News 12 is told the building was being used as classrooms. No one was in the building when the fire broke out, and no injuries have been reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
