Horses saved from suspected abuse on Hamptonburg farm

HAMPTONBURG - Five horses suspected of being abused are recovering after being found on a farm in Orange County.

The Hudson Valley SPCA took the animals Friday night during a raid at a farm on Route 416 in Hamptonburg.

Humane law enforcement officers were tipped off that there were several horses being neglected.  When officers arrived, they found a total of 30 horses, including three dead horses and five near death.

The sick horses are now at a rescue in Bloomingburg.
