TARRYTOWN - Two Queens men were arrested early Friday morning after drivers spotted them climbing to the top of the Tappan Zee Bridge.

Grant Gilliam, 27, and 28-year-old James McCullagh allegedly told police they're photographers and wanted to take nighttime pictures of the traffic for an art project. They were allegedly dropped off mid-span by a taxi and climbed to the top.

Police were alerted by a driver and found the two suspects 25 minutes later, on the roadway, with their photo equipment.

Both Gilliam and McCullagh were issued appearance tickets and released on bail. They're due in court in Greenburgh on Tuesday to face charges of reckless endangerment and trespassing. They're also facing charges of walking on a state highway, as they were found on the bridge roadway.
