Government looks into Target data breach

WASHINGTON, DC - House lawmakers are now looking into how Target handled last fall's massive data breach.

The chairman of the House Oversight Committee has asked the president of Target to hand over more internal documents by March 10.

The data breach affected up to 110 million Americans who shopped at the retail store. Hackers gained customer names, contacts and credit and debit card information.

The house committee is trying to pin down the timeline of when Target first suspected a possible security issue and when it decided to let its customers know.
