YONKERS - Thousands of kids and teenagers will converge in New York next week to play Gaelic football.

About 90 players from all around Westchester trained this week at Gaelic Park in the Bronx to prepare for the Continental Youth Championships, also known as CYC.

The event is the largest overseas Gaelic games tournament.

The games will be played at Randall’s Island.

The Emerald Mile Parade along McLean Avenue in Yonkers is scheduled to kick off July 23 at 6 p.m. to celebrate 10 years of the competition.
