Foxfire School in Yonkers holds lockdown drill

YONKERS - The Yonkers Police Department teamed up with its school district today to conduct a lockdown drill at the Foxfire School.

The elementary school, where nearly 600 students are enrolled, was done to teach children how to be safe. After the drill, the children were able to meet with police officers and the department's K-9 unit.

Don Solimene, the school's principal, called it a learning experience for the school to see how they can improve on their procedures.
