MIDDLETOWN - Fire crews fought a blaze and single-digit temperatures at an abandoned Middletown home Friday night.

Officials say the house at 8 Charles St.was abandoned with the utilities shut off, but neighbors say they saw police take someone out from inside.

Fire officials say the blaze appears suspicious and confirm there was an arrest.

Details surrounding the arrest have not yet been released.

One firefighter was hospitalized with a shoulder injury.
