CHAPPAQUA - Seven people are homeless after a massive fire destroyed a home and flower shop early this morning in Chappaqua.

The fire started at 91 Bedford Road just after 1 a.m. The building that caught fire was a two-story house, with the Whispering Pines Flower Shop on the first floor.

All seven people in the house managed to escape without injury and are being assisted by the Red Cross. Firefighters initially tried fighting the fire from inside, but were driven out after part of the first floor collapsed into the basement.

Stetson Hundgen's mother owned the flower shop and he says it's been in the family for almost 60 years. Hundgen says they hope to be up and running soon in a temporary space to fulfill all their orders.
