BRONX - An explosion in the Bronx shook homes in parts of Westchester Monday night.

Police say professional grade fireworks, placed inside a garbage pail, were detonated on a pitcher's mound at Pelham Bay Park around 11:15 p.m.

The massive explosion blew out some windows in the Bronx and could be felt and heard in parts of Westchester, New Jersey and Long Island. No one was injured in the blast.

Investigators say some of the fireworks did not go off, and they were taken to an NYPD firing range and detonated.

Police sources on the scene told News 12 they did not think this was an act of terrorism. No arrests have been made.
