ELMSFORD - An Elmsford man was sentenced to 20 years to life in prison after admitting to a series of rapes in Westchester hotels.

Silvio Raul Illescas committed four violent sexual assaults from 2011 to 2013. The assaults happened in hotels in Greenburgh, Tarrytown and Yonkers.

Police say Illescas met some of his victims through the website backpage.com.

In court Tuesday, Illescas tried to withdraw his guilty plea and get a new lawyer, claiming he was innocent. The judge denied his request.
