YORKTOWN HEIGHTS - An elderly couple from Yorktown Heights died after a fast-moving fire tore through their home early Monday morning.

Fire officials say a neighbor called in the fire at 1703 Central St. around 3 a.m.

When crews arrived, they found the home fully engulfed by flames and with a partial roof collapse. It took crews hours to get the flames under control.

According to fire officials, Jeff and Helen Ginman died in the fire after being trapped by the flames. Helen, 70, and Jeff, 74, raised their children in the home. The couple also had five grandchildren.
