EAST HARLEM - A funeral was held today for one of the eight victims killed in the deadly gas explosion in East Harlem.

Carmen Tanco, 67, was remembered with a funeral in the East Harlem community where she lived and worked. 

Family members and friends gathered at the Bethel Gospel Assembly to say goodbye to Tanco. The dental assistant was off from work when the explosion happened. Her body was thrown into the street from the sheer force of the explosion.

Her large Puerto Rican family, including News 12 photographer Angel Vargas, came together to celebrate her life.
