Dobbs Ferry High School flooded by broken water fountain

DOBBS FERRY - It was a very short school day for students at Dobbs Ferry High School today.

Classes never started as students were sent home at about 8:30 a.m. because a water fountain fell off the wall overnight and flooded the building.

It's not known why the water fountain fell off the wall, but the frigid weather is not thought to have played a role since the building is heated.

The extent of the damage is still not known. "We had some flooding from the third, second and first floor. Right now it's a lot of water," says principal John Falino.

Repairs and cleanup are ongoing, but school is expected to be open normally on Thursday.
