WHITE PLAINS - The Republican challenging Rep. Nita Lowey for her congressional seat officially kicked off his campaign in New City.
Chris Day, son of Rockland County Executive Ed Day, told the crowd yesterday, that he has new ideas that will change the "business-as-usual" culture in Washington.
Day says he's running because he believes residents in the 17th Congressional District are not getting the representation they deserve. "They have a choice. They can choose the stalemate, they can choose the checked-out attitude or they can choose someone who can reach across the aisle and who can bring real energy to the job. It's a simple choice," says Day.
Congresswoman Nita Lowey has served the Hudson Valley for 26 years, and says she's confident she will continue to represent her constituents.
