Gov. Andrew Cuomo has announced that I-84 has been reopened between the Pennsylvania and Connecticut borders.

The governor said that while the ban has been lifted effective immediately, motorists should proceed with caution as slippery road conditions may remain in certain areas.

Cuomo had announced Tuesday that I-84 between the Pennsylvania and Connecticut borders would be closed to tandem tractor-trailers starting at midnight. The ban was extended to all commercial and passenger vehicles around 8 a.m. today.

I-84 runs for nearly 73 miles through Orange, Duchess and Putnam counties and crosses the Hudson Valley at the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge.
