WEST NYACK - One church in Rockland County made it easier for commuters to receive ashes on Ash Wednesday.

Dozens of commuters took part in a drive-through distribution of ashes at the Clarkstown Reformed Church in West Nyack.

It's the first time the church has offered the service to its parishioners, as well as anyone driving by who wanted to stop to receive the ashes.

Rev. Richard Hasselbach says he placed ashes on about two-dozen drivers.  He says it's a time to begin the season of repentance, and that the ashes mean a lot to people who are on-the-go.
