Carnival proves winter can be fun

GREENWOOD LAKE - Outdoor enthusiasts took advantage of the snowy conditions at the Winter Carnival in Greenwood Lake this weekend.

Attendees enjoyed using their snow mobiles, cross-country skiing and ice fishing on the frozen lake.

Organizers say the turnout this year has been great even with all the slippery roads and harsh weather. "We were looking to have our best turnout in 15 years. It was probably too much snow, but we had a great turnout," says organizer Alex Baron.

The carnival also featured a wine tasting, a chili cook-off and a toilet paper race.
