Carl Ragland, of Mount Vernon, faces 25 years for attempted murder

MOUNT VERNON - A Mount Vernon man faces 25 years in prison after being found guilty of attempted murder.

Prosecutors say Carl Ragland shot a woman he used to have a relationship with, after an argument in June 2013. They say he shot her near South Ninth Avenue and then ran away.

The victim managed to call 911, and Ragland was later arrested after hiding in a home in New Rochelle.

Ragland will be sentenced in May.
