Busy week ahead for Westchester County Exec. Rob Astorino as GOP convention begins; Obama to speak at TZB
YONKERS - Republicans from across the state are preparing to back Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino in his bid for governor as the GOP convention begins in Rye Brook.
Astorino has been invited to the Tappan Zee Bridge event with President Obama on Wednesday, the same day that the convention starts. The president will speak in front of the bridge as part of his effort to push Congress to approve more infrastructure spending. There is no word yet on if Astorino will attend the event.
The $4 billion Tappan Zee project is the beneficiary of the largest construction loan in history, and the president wants more like it.

The county executive has reportedly chosen his running mate, but hasn't revealed that person's name publicly yet.
