BRIARCLIFF MANOR - Residents in Briarcliff Manor have approved a plan to allow the school district to pick up students who live within 15 miles of the school they attend.

According to the tally posted on the district's website, the measure passed by a vote of 158 to 62.

There were concerns students who walked to school either didn't have sidewalks or were subject to high volume traffic.

School officials don't expect the measure to be an additional cost to the district.
