TARRYTOWN - A bomb threat forced the evacuation the Jewish Community Center on the Hudson in Tarrytown Monday.

Officials say they enacted emergency procedures after a call came into the facility on S. Broadway around 9:15 a.m.

Police and fire departments responded, as well as the Westchester County Bomb Squad.

The evacuation forced everyone outside, including children in the center's nursery school. Everyone was taken to the Doubletree Inn next door for their own safety.

The bomb threat set off a more than two-hour search of the grounds and buildings.

It was the first threat against a Hudson Valley JCC amongst a wave of threats against dozens of JCCs across the country in the past month.

A bomb threat was later called into the JCC of Mid-Westchester in Scarsdale.
