An abandoned SUV found on the Tappan Zee Bridge spurred the search for an apparent suicide victim this morning.

State police say the abandoned vehicle was found on the northbound side of the bridge, just before the midspan this morning around 5:19 a.m.

Crews from the Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow fire departments along with state police and marine units immediately started searching the Hudson River.

State police have identified the victim as Karl Peterson, 29, of Scarsdale. State police say no note or anything of that nature was found in the car

Traffic was not affected on the bridge at any point, and the span was never shut down.
