WHITE PLAINS - The battle is heating up in White Plains over Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino's proposed 2013 budget.

According to County Board Chair Ken Jenkins, numbers in the Astorino budget proposal are not accurate. He claims the county will not save money by cutting subsidies to three community health centers.

In his 2013 budget proposal, Astorino eliminated $3 million the county provides for the centers. Astorino claims its because the centers have other funding sources and can provide the service without the county's money.

County Board Chair Ken Jenkins says the money will almost certainly be restored. He claims it saves the county money on services the state requires county governments to provide.

Health center officials have taken the same position as Jenkins, but Astorino is standing by his budget's numbers.
