Bad weather driving tips

YONKERS - If you can't stay home during today's bad weather, you need to take caution and follow some simple common sense rules.

That's the advice of New York State Police Capt. Richard Mazzone.

Mazzone joined News 12's Chelsea Edwards and Lisa Salvadorini on the phone to give some tips on how to stay safe on the area's icy roadways.

Mazzone says drivers should make sure they have good tires, new wiper blades and a full tank of gas before hitting the road. He also says it is critical to maintain a safe distance from the car ahead of you.
