YONKERS - Local Catholic schools have created a new touring program to help parents decide the proper school placement for their children.

The Archdiocese of New York is holding Touring Tuesdays, a day where more than 100 participating elementary schools in Westchester and the Hudson Valley will provide prospective parents with tours from other parents of local Catholic schools.

While the goal of the program is to increase enrollment at the schools, organizers hope to spread the message that there is an alternative to day care and public schools that will provide a quality Catholic education at an affordable price.

Another Touring Tuesdays is scheduled for May 13.
