NEWBURGH - An appeals court has upheld the conviction of Cory Byrd in the death of 4-year-old Marc Bookal.

Byrd is serving 50 years for the murder. 

He was found guilty on charges he brutally beat the boy to death, stuffed his body in a Pack 'n Play bag and dumped it in a nearby wooded lot.  

Officials say Byrd, who was watching Marc Bookal for the day, beat him to death after the little boy wet the bed, threw up and defecated in his pants.
