A crash in the Bronx has shut down

A crash in the Bronx has shut down the southbound Hutchinson River Parkway (Credit: News 12)

The Bronx - A three-vehicle crash in the Bronx closed the southbound Hutchinson River Parkway this morning creating traffic back-ups all the way into Westchester County.

Police say that around 6:30 a.m. a box truck traveling illegally on the parkway hit an overpass near Westchester Avenue and East Tremont Avenue in the Bronx. The top of the truck was almost completely sheered off. All commercial trucks are banned from traveling on New York State parkways.

Two other cars were involved in the accident. There is no word yet if there were any injuries.
