WHITE PLAINS - A White Plains family is mourning after a car accident in Georgia left one family member dead and sent two others to the hospital.

The crash happened in the Atlanta suburb of College Park.

Hilda Gilzene, 74, her daughter Charmain Fraiser and son-in-law Veril Fraiser, both in their 50s, left from White Plains to check on their vacation home in Georgia. College Park police say the three were in a silver Dodge Caravan on I-85. One witness tells police that there were two cars speeding and the Caravan was ran off the highway, slamming into a tree.

Family friend Katrina Jackson says both Veril and his mother-in-law were ejected from the van. Veril died at the scene, and his mother-in-law has been hospitalized in critical condition. Veril's wife Charmain suffered minor injuries.

Police are still investigating the accident and are looking for more witnesses.
