Mayor's Management Report: Murders down, homelessness up since de Blasio took office
Mayor Bill de Blasio has released the first partial report card of his administration, providing a glimpse of city operations since he took office.
According to the Mayor's Management Report, the number of homicides has dropped, but the overall crime rate increased slightly with more felony assaults, burglaries and grand larcenies in 2014 compared to the 2013 fiscal year.

In other areas, the number of homeless adults moving into shelters has risen, while FDNY response times to emergencies have remained steady.
The annual report covers the fiscal year, which runs from July 2013 to June 2014.
