A judge moved the case against prominent Stamford attorney Darnell Crosland to New Haven, a courthouse where he rarely appears.

He's charged with bribery of a witness, tampering with a witness and conspiracy to commit witness tampering.

Crosland was arrested by state police in conjunction with the Statewide Prosecution Bureau of the Office of the Chief State's Attorney.

So far, authorities have not yet released much information surrounding the case. The judge ruled that the arrest warrant seal will be extended to Dec. 2.

Crosland previously told News 12 he turned down a request to represent someone, saying he couldn't represent him because he was representing someone on the other side. He gave no indication what that case is about.

He says he referred the person to another attorney, James Hardy, who's also been charged with tampering with a witness and conspiracy to commit witness tampering.

Crosland’s attorney told News 12 that he would “address the allegation at an appropriate time.”

Crosland says despite the charges, he is continuing his campaign for a local Common Council seat. He's due back in court Nov. 18.
