ROCKLAND COUNTY - Health officials have issued a warning concerning a dangerous new caffeine trend that's sweeping the Hudson Valley.

Powdered caffeine can be sprinkled on food or added to drinks.

Rockland County Health Department officials say it is easy to take too much of the powdered caffeine substance, and that abusing it could lead to overdose and death.

Carrie Steindorff, of the Rockland County Health Department, says the powdered caffeine is alarming because it’s easy to get and is extremely potent and inexpensive.
