WHITE PLAINS - The Mass Transit Task Force for the new Tappan Zee Bridge has released its wish list for public transit on the new span.

Its final recommendation included a cross-corridor system that will use high-tech buses.

The goal is for the new span to have a bus rapid-transit system and an adaptive traffic signal system to help thousands of commuters shave time off their trips.

A funding source for the bus rapid-transit plan is still uncertain.
The Tappan Zee Bridge project is slated for completion in 2018.
