Dr. Sharon Nachman discusses trick-or-treating and the flu season
This morning, News 12's Elizabeth Hashagen was joined by Dr. Sharon Nachman to discuss back to school, trick-or-treating, and the flu season.
Dr. Nachman is the head of the Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at Stony Brook Children's Hospital.
The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has issued its first guidance for the holidays, including Halloween, amid the coronavirus pandemic. According to their guidance, door-to-door trick-or-treating and costume masks and parties are discouraged this year due to the pandemic.
Some of Dr. Nachman's tips for Halloween include practice social distancing, go in small groups, always wear a mask, plan your route, don't crowd at the door.
