Arrests made in hospital information leak case
Attorney General Andrew Cuomo announced Wednesday that several employees at Lincoln Medical Center sold confidential patient information as part of an insurance fraud scheme.
According to Cuomo, the information that was sold related to patients who were involved in minor car accidents. Cuomo says these patients were later lured into unnecessary treatments, followed by fake insurance claims.
A Lincoln Medical Center spokesperson says Mary Jimenez, from patient accounts, and Lloyd Modeste, from housekeeping, were two employees who were funneling information without the hospital's knowledge.
