A man is dead after being shot on Creston Avenue overnight.

Police say officers responded to a call just before midnight.

Upon arriving at the scene, they found a 23-year-old man with gunshot wounds to the head and the torso.

Sources tell News 12 the man was walking with someone just before the shooting but he was by himself when he was shot.

Police say at least five bullet casings were found. First responders rushed the victim to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The victim’s name has not been released yet. No one has been arrested yet.

Authorities say they have a suspect. Detectives are working to learn more about the relationship between the victim and the suspect.

Creston Avenue remains closed as detectives continue to gather evidence.
